3 across in 2008 Chevy Cobalt?/moved from Re: Successful Three Across thread

So, I'm a newbie (so new I'm not even registered) and in dire straits. I have two FF Nautiluses in a 2008 Chevy Cobalt (gulp). My boys are six and four, and both still harnessed which I would prefer to keep. I somehow have to fit a RF seat in the middle and obviously with these two seats it isn't gonna happen no matter how hard I try - downside is I NEED to find new seats that can keep the boys safely harnessed, are slim-fit, and allow a convertible RF seat between them. I don't even know if this is possible; I've trolled around this thread and the general consensus is that it isn't really possible. I want my babies to be safe but I don't have a lot of money to spend to make this happen. :( I could use any possible suggestions for affordable seats (less than $200 if possible). I'm okay with replacing the seats in my car because my daycare provider needs a new seat for my youngest, so I can pass the Nautilus on to her - but I'd love to keep my boys harnessed if possible!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome :)

That sounds like a tight fit. The only seat that I can think of that could possibly work is a rear facing Graco MyRide in the middle. You'll want to install all car seats with the seat belt instead of LATCH, this will allow you to pull the outboard Nautiluses (Naultili?) closer to the doors.

Hopefully bumping this up will get you more suggestions on replacement seats in your budget if the MyRide won't fit.

If you already have a convertible seat and want to replace the two Nautilis's, then I would look at a couple of Harmony Defenders. They are at wal mart and a great, narrow, higher harness slot combination seat (ff to booster).
