3 across in '07 Honda Fit

I need help trying to figure out the best configuration for 3 across in a 2007 Honda Fit. I need at least 1 FF and 1 RF and the 3rd can be either FF or RF. I have a Britax Marathon 65 that I'd like to use if possible, but I'm ok with picking up all new seats for all 3 if need be. The seat I'm currently looking at are the Diono Radian seats (either RXT or R120).

Has anyone tried FF Radian / RF Marathon or Radian / FF or RF Radian - more upright (driver/centre/passenger)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

How old and heavy is everyone?

We'll try to get this moving here, but I had already moved your other thread to the Canadian forum so you didn't get American answers (as we're a mainly American forum with a large Canadian minority). When this gets more hits I'll then move it over again for you.

DD is 4 years old, 32 lbs.
DS is 18 months, 20 lbs.
The youngest won't arrive until early next year.

I know that there will probably be recommendations for us to use a infant seat for the youngest, but I personally don't like using them - never did with the other 2 and probably never will.

Ok, so two rear one forward. If you don't want an infant seat, no problem. Lots of people here don't use them (me included).

If you have a new Marathon 65, I'd get one Radian and an angle adjuster and a Britax infant positioning wedge and use those two for the newborn and 18 month old rear facing. Then I'd get something narrow for the four year old. If the Evenflo SecureKid is north of the border, that'd be my first suggestion.

Thank you for the suggestion!

I have a Marathon from 2008. So it's not new and I'm not sure what you mean by an infant positioning wedge for the Marathon - we've never used one before and its always installed at the proper 45 degree angle.

I'm surprised you suggested the Evenflow SecureKid - it is available here in Canada, but at 19 inches wide (according to Sears' website), would it still be considered narrow? Isn't the Radian 17 inches wide?

It doesn't need a 45 degree angle for rear facing. Anything from 30-45 is ok, as per the manual.

The infant positioning wedge is for the new Marathon 65. It won't work in the older Marathons. And the older Marathons won't fit newborns. Their bottom slots are too high.

Numbers on the paper don't always align with how well two seats puzzle next to one another. For instance, the Marathon is 19" wide and the Radian 17", but together they probably take up no more than 33". They puzzle well together in the same direction. Maybe try the Radian at a newborn angle for the new baby and Marathon outboard and more upright for the older?

Ok - makes sense. So Radian in the middle for the newborn, and the Marathon outboard for the toddler.

One last question. I currently have a Britax Frontier that my 4 year old is using - is it likely I'll be able to continue using it next to the other carseats?

Has anyone tried putting together a Frontier next to a Radian?
