2011 T&C LATCH limit

What are the LATCH limits for a 2011 T&C? I know back in the 2009 all Chryslers were 48lbs, but I didn't know if that was revised in newer models, and my 5 year old is probably approaching the limit where we need to be concerned with this.

Also, the limit is the combined weight of the child and car seat, correct?

Thanks!

Hi there.

The limit used to be 48 pounds, child's weight only. It's been retroactively changed. The new limit is 65 pounds, combined weight of child plus seat.

What seat is your five year old in, and how much does he weigh?

Ok, the Nautilus is listed at 26 pounds, so that means a 39 pound child's weight. I'd switch to the seatbelt and top tether now then.

Wow, I'm glad I asked! The info I found online had it listed as 19.5 lbs! Thanks!!

Since we're on the subject...my 20 month old is RF in a TrueFit...he's 28.5 lbs. He's fine for a while, right? It just seems like that seat weighs quite a bit...

Not to thread hijack, but oh my gosh, i didn't realize this was something to be concerned about!!

So both my son and daughter are 32 lbs. My daughter is, right now, in an Evenflo Triumph, so ~23lbs and my son's in a True Fit, so ~20lbs...according to the product descriptions, that is...

My daughter is at 55lbs harnessed and my son's at 52lbs harnessed...for now, until next week when he gets his braces.

We drive a 2005 Toyota Camry and a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback. Should we be using the belt and top tether for installation?

Toyota defers to the carseat's limit, so for both seats that's 48 pounds, child's weight. You can use the lower anchors and top tether or seatbelt and top tether.

Mitsubishi is 65 pounds combined. The Triumph is 18.6 pounds for the Advanced and 19.2 for the 65. The True Fit is 21.12. So 43.88 for the True Fit and then about 46 pounds for the Triumph, depending on which one.
