Question 2004 nissan Xterra and 2004 GMC full size truck

I have two very quick questions for a short trip we are taking this weekend.
1) Can a RF seat brace or even touch the front passenger seat in an 04 Nissan xterra? I know in my 2010 mazda3 it cannot but was unsure in the xterra.
2)I have the same question for a 2004 gmc full size extended cab truck. We have never put a rf seat in a truck as we drive a car and an suv and I'm a bit uneasy with the fact that of we were to wreck I feel her head could somehow end up hitting the back glass. Is this completely irrational? I have no idea if that is a possibility but it seems as if it could be.
Thanks in advance for your knowledge!

What carseat are you using? Some allow bracing, most do not.

ETA: I'm not sure about your vehicles. Hopefully someone else can answer about that.

It can be hard to fit seats (RFg or FFg) in an extended cab truck (as opposed to a crew cab, which has four full-sized doors). I prefer seats that can be RFg tethered for use in trucks.

The carseat we are using for this little trip is an evenflo titan elite. I'm guessing it probably does not allow bracing but just wanted to check :).
I do not like this seat and have really been wanting to get dd a radian so maybe when we get home with the truck I'll try one out ;). Then I will at least feel better with her being able to be tethered.

I'd check out a RN IRL to see if it fits. I think it would be unlikely to fit in an extended cab truck. I would go with one of the Britax convertibles, they are more upright and don't take up as much room front-to-back when RFg and they allow RFg tethering.

My DH had an older Nissan ('99 Pathfinder) and there was no restriction on bracing. I don't know about the Xterra in that year, though.

A Titan cannot brace. Sorry. However, for future reference, a Radian will fit very well rfing in the back center of your pickup. :) If you would like something outboard, I do like Britax since they allow bracing (ETA- and don't take up much front-to-back room). Of course, you need to look in your vehicle owners manual to be sure they allow it. Other seats (with more longevity than the Titan) that generally fit well rfing in tight spaces are the Graco MyRide 65 or Evenflo Triumph 65/Momentum 65. There's also the new Maxi Cosi Pria 70 that looks very promising. None of those allow bracing but would be worth a look, IMO. Someone chime in if I've missed something.

Thank you so much DorothyoutofOz! I think we will try RNs first and go from there. We have recently reRFd so I kind of feel like this is all new even though DD has only been FF for 6 months. I really appreciate everyones help!
