Question 2 install questions, EFTA in Mazda5

We have a 2010 Mazda5. Both girls are in the captains chairs. DD1 just turned 4 so (at her request) I turned her seat FFing. She's in an Evenflo Triumph Advance.

1) I had to remove the headrest from the captains chair. Is this okay?

2) The car seat manual seems to say I need to use a locking clip if the seatbelt buckle slides infinitely (that's not the word, but you get what I mean?). It doesn't say anything about how the seatbelt locks. Right now I don't have the locking clip on, but I will certainly redo the install if I need to.

I have a 2010 5 as well

1- yes, it's fine

2- your seat belts lock by pulling all the webbing out of the retractor and then letting it back. They click back in when they're locked. You don't need a locking clip.

Thank you! Yes, I pulled the seatbelt all the way out and held it till I had it threaded through the car seat and buckled. The install seems tight.
