Question 1999 Acura RL with 3 carseats

We have 15 month old twins, who are both small. We recently learned my wife is pregnant again. So come January, we will have 3 under two..

I already drive the minivan, but we're hoping to avoid another car payment. Is it possible/safe to have 3 carseats in the back of a 1999 Acura RL? We currently have 2 britax paviliions for the twins. We have the twins chicco keyfits still, but I'm not convinced it would be safe to put one of those in the middle of the back row with no latch system.

Thoughts? Our budget really doesn't have room for a new car..

Hi there.

You can do three across. And LATCH isn't required. It's simply an alternative to the seatbelt. With a tight three across I'd do all seatbelts, and the lockoffs of the Chicco and Britaxes means you can pull the seats toward the doors for the outside ones to give the middle more room.

I'd try what you have first, see how that goes, then see if you need new seats. There are narrower options than the Pavilions, and the Keyfit is decently narrow.

Have you tried the seats that you have? 2 Pavillions and a Keyfit?

If you haven't used the Pavillions yet, can you return them? A Keyfit and two narrower convertibles should fit just fine. Foonf, Radian, Size4Me, Sureride, Guide 65 could all be contenders depending on budget. You have a fairly wide back seat.
