07 4Runner & LATCH

Hello! My sister is 35 weeks pregnant with my nephew and he will be riding in a Chicco Keyfit 30. They have a 2007 Toyota 4 Runner. If they want him to ride in the center position, they will have to use the seatbelt for the install, correct? I had spoken to a CPST friend and she checked her manual for me, but we both forgot! I'm pretty sure center LATCH is not allowed but wanted to double check. Thanks for any help you can give! ~M

Yes, she will have to use the seatbelt since Toyota does not allow the use of center LATCH. Luckily, the Keyfit installs very easily with the belt! I that thing.

My dad has an 07 4-Runner (or an 08? I can't remember!). His car is REALLY, REALLY great for installations.

That's always nice to hear! I'll be installing her seat/base soon since she is very pg and BIL is recovering from a car accident in which he suffered a broken femur back in January. Neither are in any shape to be doing much of anything at this point. They are doing what all soon to be first time parents should be doing: resting and sleeping A LOT!!
