Spin off Sears Commercial thread...Safety 1st carseat box

I posted on Coffee Break about the Safety 1st Surveyor Combo seat I found at Kmart for $16...the carseat box has a picture of the seat with a little boy in it. It's a forward facing only seat and the straps are BELOW the boy's shoulders, harnesses are loose, chest clip is too low, and the boy looks really young (more than a year, but no more than 18 months). If the carseat manufacturer can't get it right, how can we expect parents to?

I think on the AO they put the harness pads down there so the chest clip looks like it is where it should be. If they put the harness pads above the chest clip they would either have to have the harness really loose for the picture or have the chest clip really low. They should have just taken the photo without the pads

Yeah Target for listing the weight ranges by type of use rather than just saying 5-100lbs like so many of the combination and 3 in 1 descriptions do!

Yeah, that was bugging me like crazy when I was trying to research different carseats online today and yesterday (or should I say yesterday and the day before since it's past midnight?)

My son is already 5. If the seat only harnesses to 40 lbs, then I may as well save my money and just buy a booster. Why is it so complicated to figure out which seats can be harnessed for bigger kids and their approxiomate prices?

BTW, what's a harness pad?
