Third row safety in Honda Odyssey

I have to move my five year old and her Husky to the back of our Odyssey. Does anyone know which is better - lap belt only w/ tether in the middle of the third row, or shoulder belt w/ tether behind the driver?
Thanks

If the seat is properly installed with a tether and used correctly in a back seat, I would say it doesn't make much difference. There are no statistics to support either one as being safer.

Your Odyssey is 1998 or older I assume? 1999 and newer models all have shoulder belts in every seating position.

There is a shoulder belt in each position, but the middle belt is a two-piece type (they hook together) and the Odyssey owner's manual says to just use the lap-belt portion only to install a car seat there. This is a 2001 model and there is a tether anchor already installed for the middle seat, but I plan to take the car to a dealer and get the anchor installation double-checked (the anchor can spin freely around the bolt). Thanks for the help - I'm really conflicted about this!!! We've been putting my daughter in her spare Turbo Booster (third row behind the driver) for the time being, but I can barely stand it!

edited to say my dd is 5 and weighs 60 pounds

I had a Husky in our 2001 Odyssey. I usually had it behind the driver in the second row, mostly because it didn't leave much room if I installed it in the center of the third row.

It's fine to install it in any seating position of the Odyssey, provided you get a good fit and follow the Husky instructions regarding the top tether and recline bar.
