Question Maxi Cosi infant car seat in 2003 VW GTI

Hi,

I have a 2003 VW GTI 2 door and we purchased a Maxi Cosi Mico infant car seat for use with our soon to be born child.

We did not receive an instruction manual with the seat and I seem to have misplaced the manual for my car. My husband has installed the seat into the car but we would like to get a second opinion on it if it is installed correctly.

I've tried googling for clinics in Toronto but it's not much help. Does anyone know of any where in Toronto where we can go to get this checked out. We live downtown but can drive to pretty much anywhere in Toronto for this.

Your best bet is usually to call SJA Mississauga, since they're the most active branch.. but we have a few GTA techs here who can arrange something privately (and will likely post!) Where exactly are you located?

Thanks for the quick reply. We are located near Queen and Roncesvalles in the west end of Toronto.

I'm assuming SJA is St. John's Ambulance, right? I can never understand what all these initials mean..lol! Or a private meeting would also work.

I am worried as my car is small and the baby is due on the 26th of this month (though s/he may come before or after that date) and I'd like piece of mind before that happens.

Did you buy your seat new? I have never seen the Canadian Maxi-Cosi Mico so I could be completely off-base, but we originally thought our Maxi-Cosi didn't come with an instruction manual and then eventually discovered that there is a little compartment in the back of the seat near where the seatbelt's shoulder belt hooks in. It's hard to see and hard to get open, but the instruction manual was in there. Again, maybe your seat is different, but just in case I thought I'd post this info.
