You could e-mail (or PM) people who are techs or instructors in your area and see if they know of anything in the works.

Classes tend to be posted sometimes as little as a few weeks before they occur, so keep watching.

I'm signed up for a class that is 2 hours away from me, at a time of the year when we can make it a "vacation", all go down and stay there and my husband watch the kids. I waited about a year and a half, checking the list frequently (at least every 3 months) for one that was in a time and place that worked for me.

I finally found one in my area that is only about half an hour away so I can drive to it every day. Yay! I now have to wait until August though. I have been waiting for over a year now, so it pays to be patient.

I agree with the pps - check daily (sometimes more than once a day) and register even for "controlled/closed" classes. The class I took was a controlled class - when you register for it the instructor will either accept or decline. It took me a while to find one, I ended up driving about and hour every day to get to mine. Well worth it though!

Good luck.
