Newborn in a Car Seat!

So, I'm just now posting it, but here's Kidlet at about... 11 hours old? He's a week and a half now and much more "filled out", lol. His next appt is on Tuesday, to see how much he weighs now (he surpassed his birth weight at 5 days old).

Everything I've ever said about having tiny kids (AKA DD) is coming back to haunt me. This kid just has "I'm gonna be a football player" all over him

I haven't sat him in other seats yet, I'll get around to it eventually...

ETA: I'm an idiot  DS is sitting in a '05 SnugRide, 22lb version.

so cute!! I would consider a rolled washcloth between him and the crotch strap, though... I don't like the space.

Hee hee hee, he still looks tiny to me! My first two never looked like newborns at all; my third did but had a 10 inch torso!

Congratulations, he's adorable!

congrats! He is adorable :) I second Kat's idea of the rolled washcloth by the crotch strap.

hmm, I'm thinking it's an optical illusion - I just stuck him in there again to see, and the crotch strap is right up on him. The crotch strap seems long to me, but I think that's because I'm used to buckling in a toddler.

I agree that a rolled wash cloth isn't necessary based on this picture. If his bum was sliding forwards after he was in the seat a little bit then I'd use one, but otherwise it's not necessary.

Baby bum's don't slide forward in a collision, so as long as he's not sliding forward when just sitting in the seat then I have no concerns at all - the harness adjusts nice and snug and fits him well. No need for a crotch roll IMO.

Looks great and what a cutie!

My poor tiny Joshua had to have the straps as tight as they would possibly go (which was just barely tight enough) and the chestclip was like a whole body clip. Your little guys fill his seat out nicely!

The SR just has a long crotch strap. I hate it, actually. Even on my 10 inch torsoed child it was up at her belly button.
