So I THOUGHT I had a seat picked out, but

now I see another one.

I tried a Radian in my car today and liked it and was ready to order one. I went to do so though and saw that they have the Radian 80 coming out soon. So, should I get the 65 now, or wait for the 80, which also costs $100 more???

From what i've heard from other boards, is that the radian 80 is pretty much the same seat with a few minor changes, and retested to 80 lbs. Same harness height, and I don't think a kid could ever get to 80 lbs in one quite honestly. I would go with the 65 if I were you and save $100 :) .

Thanks. I just read a little more about the 80 and it doesn't seem to be worth the extra $100 at this point since my son is close to 4. It'd be worth it for an infant though, perhaps.

Hey, Gobsmacked! :) This is one of the boards I frequent. lol
So you liked the Radian? And it worked well in your car? I'd have to agre with you about sticking with the 65 rather than the 80 (which, funny, I didn't know about til you mentioned it). I just don't think you'll need the extra weight rating for C. And, if it's not going to be any taller than the 65, well, it wouldn't make any sense.
Anyway, I hope you're able to make a choice!

I suggest first calling Sunshine Kids & asking them if the new Radian 80 is the same seat merely tested higher....

Has kiddo outgrown the current seat yet? Is it expired? Sorry, I forget!

If so, then I'd get the Radian 65 now, but if not I'd think about waiting JIC (depending on what Sunshine Kids says about any possible changes in the new seat).

Hi Raechel- yeah, I realized when I got home that this board DOES have blue on it, LOL. Just shows how much I pay attention. Yeah, I like the Radian. I like the Regent, too, but I like them about the same, and since the Radian's cheapers, we'll be happy with that one.

My3girls- the Radian 80 is at the bottom of this page: http://www.healthchecksystems.com/radian_car_seats.htm

Papooses- DS has outgrown his Roundabout, but still fits in his Marathon. He's 34 lbs and 38.5" We need the seat in the second car, and I don't really want to wait too long to get one.

Sorry, I was referring to the original Radian (65). I always check out carseats when I go to any store and have yet to see any Radian?

Oh, I have no idea where to find it IRL. I bought mine online, and I was able to check it out because a friend of mine owns one.

Babies R Us and Toys R Us are not likely to carry it. Try Buy Buy Baby, USA Baby, or another boutique store. Or call Sunshine Kids (1-888-336-7909) to find a store that will carry it near you.

Or see if you know someone who has one.

Thanks for the laugh!!! I don't even know anyone that owns a Britax, except myself!!:D Everyone I know buys the Cosco HBB at WM! *gag* I've looked at USA Baby in KC, but there aren't very many boutique stores near me. We visit family in KC about once a year and I make dh take me carseat shopping just for kicks. I don't need a Radian, I just wanted to see one! ;)
THANKS!
