My DD is 2.5 (just barely), 38" and 33lbs. She's currently in and Evenflo Triumph Deluxe as her primary carseat in my car, and in a Costco Scenera in Daddy's car where she rides maybe once every couple of weeks. She's going to outgrow the Evenflo very soon, her shoulders are just about at the height of the straps on the top slot, and the listed height limit of the seat is 40" anyway. Same with the Scenera. She also rides in a Graco Comfort Sport in her grand parents car, and she's outgrown that by torso height by now I bet, she hasn't ridden in it in quite a while, but its shorter than the rest of the seats.

We're planning on getting a Regent this month as her primary seat in my car, but now I'm not sure what to get as her secondary seats for Daddy and Grandma's cars. She's tall for her age, 85-90th %ile and I want her to be harnessed as long as possible.

Does the Regent have the highest shoulder slots of the bunch? If not, what does? What would you choose for secondary seats. I've considered the Nautilus and the True Fit. We are willing to spend the big bucks on her primary seat, but for secondary seats we'd rather not pay $300 each.

The Regent has the highest top slots on the market. The Nautilus is an excellent choice for a backup seat, but so is the True Fit. It really depends on what you want from that seat (do you want one that will later be a booster, or are you planning on another child and would like one that can be passed down as a convertible?) It may also depend on what your child is comfortable in. You could take her to the store and sit her in both, and see what she likes.

I'd probably get a Radian 65 and a Nautilus for the secondary seats.

The Nautilus will last almost as long as the Regent in harness mode (about 3/4 of an inch difference), but the Radian is narrow, and great for flying/travel, and great for 3 across if you ever need to fit 3 people/carseats in the back seat.

It just gives options and some versatility, since you are buying new seats anyways, it makes sense to get different ones that will work in different situations.

I think Gypsy is right, cover your bases for all situations. However, the Radian is a beast to install, so I would make sure it works. Plus, it's not all that cheap... I might just get two Nautili, actually.

I think I would get a Nautilus. Actually, two of them. It is really easy to install and most kids like it a lot. It will last a long time with the harness, then it turns into a good high back and backless booster. It really should be the last seat you will need to buy.

I wouldn't go with the Radian or True Fit, because you don't need them to rear face. You would spend more money on them than the Nautilus, but wouldn't get a booster out of it.
