I have a 1992 Lumina. I just bought the Britax Boulevard CS. I don't know what kind of seat belts it has in it and I have no clue how to find out. I looked in my manual and it doesn't say. all it shows is how to put a seat belt on! LOL . Anyways can you tell me how to find out or if you know whether or not I can keep this car seat? Thanks

By the way when i pull the seat belts out i they don't lock and they don't lock when i tug on them hard.

Hi there. A vehicle of that age probably only has locking belts in the center, where you have lap belts. If you are installing with a lap/shoulder belt, you would need to use the built-in lockoffs on your Boulevard. Are you installing it rear facing or forward facing?

Actually, your Lumina has locking latchplates. The shoulder belt won't lock, but as long as the buckle holds the lap and shoulder portions of the belt webbing parallel to each other, the lap belt will stay lock and will securely hold your seat.

Locking latchplates are very common for that age GM vehicle.

Oops, thanks for the correction

OP, that makes installing car seats much easier in your car!

I don't know how different the 92 from the 95 is. I have a 95, the middle seatbelt is how you say, with the latchplate but the shoulder belt does lock, like when you pull it all the way out then slowly let it retract. But it also has very long forward of the bight buckles. I have to use the LBP on the Regent for a decent install.

Yeap. It has locking latch plates. I also own a 92 lumina and so far its been very easy to install car seats in the back of this particular car. I can install my radian in all three positions in about a minute. :)

Just make sure that its going to stay tight. Sometimes if the belt is in an odd position on the belt path, the belt will work loose. If it does that, flip the male part of the buckle to "Lock".
