I just received this email:
Become a Child Car Seat Technician!
If you're interested in promoting child passenger safety in Manitoba, consider becoming a certified Child Restraint Systems (CRS) technician. National certification is provided through St. John's Ambulance.
The training is conducted by Manitoba Public Insurance.
If you're already trained as a technician but you know others that'd be interested, please forward this to your contacts.
What is a Child Car Seat Technician?
Primary role of technicians: Increase the awareness and correct use of children's restraints systems and seat belts for children in their community. Technicians conduct and/or supervise programs that require technical expertise.
After participating in this course, you'd be able to:
select appropriate car seats or restraint systems for children and correctly secure them in these systems;
install children's restrain systems in various vehicles;
organize and coordinate clinics; and,
you can be a resource to your community about child passenger safety.
Course Information
This 2-day course will provide you with the ability to:
Educate;
Encourage; and,
Support parents and caregivers on how to properly restrain their children while on the road.
The course is free and covered by Manitoba Public Insurance.
