Chest Clip Issue

DS has just learned how to slide down his chest clip. Assuming his harness straps are tight enough, is he less safe if he moves his chest clip down a little while we are driving? He just turned 2 today and I think if I start to draw attention to the chest clip issue it will get worse before it gets better. I'm hoping he'll mess with it a few times and then forget about it. If he is less safe then I will address the problem. I'm just curious b/c I know that European seats don't have chest clips... but if I remember correctly they have slightly higher crotch straps or something to compensate... is that true?

Yes and no. Yes, if his harness is tight it's less of an issue. And you're right, European seats don't have chest clips. However, sliding down the chest clip widens the harness lower down so it's not in the V that it should be. More like an angular U.

You can put some velcro on the outside of the clip, the rough side of the velcro. It won't interfere with the use of the clip, but it'll annoy his fingers.

I hadn't thought about how moving the chest clip does separate the harness a bit. I'm going to keep an close eye on him for the next few days and if he does continue to do this I will add some velcro... thanks for the idea:)
