-under $24,000
-has a sunroof (very important)
-good-great fuel economy
-can fit 3 across

What would you get??? why??

A Hyundai Sonata GLS would definitely be a safe choice and fit the budget with reasonable fuel economy. A 4-cylinder 2008 GLS with the sunroof option package should be under $20,000, out the door after taxes and everything. Accord, Camry and Taurus are all reasonable options, but might be a little pricier with sunroof.
