What I wish

I wish the second row on vans and SUVs could have 2 captain-type chairs and then a stowable center seat. So you could have access to the third row easily but not have to install 2 child restraints next to each other to access the third row. Like instead of a 40/60 fold it would be a 30/40/30 fold or maybe 35/30/35. But instead of just folding out of the way it would be completely stowable into the floor. Anyway, that's my new wish. I feel claustrophobic in my Jeep Grand Cherokee and REALLY want a large SUV!!!!!! Lol.

you also just described the new Toyota Highlander (2008+). It has a middle seat, in the middle row, that can fold forward and actually stow in the floor/bottom of the front console. It is SUPER cool!

what car do you have..??
the Toyota Highlander is the Toyota Kluger here in Australia...very nice...but i still would like something bigger..maybe the Toyota Tarago.the Kluger doesnt have any vera tether points in the third row..
My question is...
why make three rows for a family car if you cant anchour car seats??? Male designers there obviously!!!!!!

That depends on if you have a carseat or person on each side. If there is then a Radian or FPSVB works fine.
There is no Top tether (unless that was added for 08?) so it really isn't for ff'ing harnessed seats.

ETA: There is no LATCH, but there is a seatbelt of course :)

Huh. That's pretty nifty.

(Sorry, I have no idea where that came from - sounds like something my dad would say, though, so when it popped in my head I just wrote it!)

I asked this is a seperate thread below, but didn't get a response. Can you install an infant seat in the center seat of the 2nd row in the new Highlanders? Thanks, we were thinking of getting one, but are hesitant if this is not possible.
