Well, I think the reason they are refunding her money is that 1) the CS rep was clueless and denied that there was a HWH seat coming out at all and 2) said rep had her spend the money on a CarGo, which only lasted a few months, and 3) said transaction was a huge waste of money since Bean the First is already about to outgrow the seat.

Is that right?

Exactly; I bought the seat because the rep assured me they would not be making a hwh seat. They are refunding the cost of the seat to make up for the misinformation.

Yasmel, I just noticed your signature.

Don't think that people will look down on you for not having your 7 year old in a harnessed seat! There is nothing wrong with a BPB for a 7 year old who can sit maturely

:yeahthat:

My 6.5yo, 49-50 inches/56-57 pounds, is in a booster full-time now. There are days I second-guess that decision, but she sits properly 99% of the time now (I can't remember the last time I had to remind her). As long as she loves the seat(s) she rides in, she is willing and (now) able to sit still.

So don't feel bad at all for having your 7yo in a booster. :) It's a perfectly acceptable choice to make. And we really want an Air Booster, too. ;)

Maybe they should call THIS the Step 3, and ditch the Turbo booster...then Safeseat 1 for babies, Safeseat 2 for Toddlers, Safeseat 3 could be the Nautilus...

But any thinking parent would see that it wouldn't make sense to buy the SS2. Now if the SS2 was RFing to 35-40 lb they would get some of us to buy three seats and make more money. :twocents:

Thank you girls. He sits perfectly in his booster, he has never complained about been in a child restraint because I never showed him other options.
It is me that actually wants him safer in a Regent and he wants it too. He keeps asking me when is he going to get it lol

Well, in that case, wonderful! He wants to ride in a Regent, he should fit for a couple more years, and you have a younger sibling to hand it down to, so I'd say it's a great idea, as long as it isn't a financial hardship. The Boulevard will last your younger son to booster age most likely, and if not there will be other options to harness at that point.

I just wanted to make sure you knew we don't judge anyone for choosing a booster for a child at least 4 (preferably at least 5-6) and at least 40 pounds who can be trusted to sit properly. Harnessing longer is wonderful, though, and if it's a feasible option that everyone wants, I'm all for it, too. :D

I'm heading to Springfield probably tomorrow morning so I'll check BuyBuyBaby...? They have great stuff, as you know, but they're not usually the first folks to get stuff in. Oh, I may can check the WalMart in Kingstown the same day.

I went to the Fairfax Wal-Mart-- no seat.
I called the Sterling Wal-Mart-- they report that they do not have the seat. :(

Definitely. Really. My oldest son has been in a booster the entire time I've been posting here. He's 7.5. I started posting when he was what, 5.5. No one has ever given me any flack. Ever. Because a booster seat was an appropriate seat for his age/weight/maturity level. :)

Edited to add: maybe I should put in my siggy "ds1 7/2000 in a booster, because the regent never crossed my mind & ds2 3/2005 ff'ing in the fpsvd, because I'm horrible" Or something. ;)

I am happy though, that there are more options for HWH seats now. :)
(Think about it, in the past 3 years, we've gotten a lot more choices!)

:yeahthat: I have to laugh when I hear people talking about how much space convertible seats take up vision-wise. I can see FINE around my DD's seats (a MA and a Regent.) My sons' boosters on the other hand completely block off sight.

I don't know why it's funny that people say their convertibles seats cut out people's vision in the car. My DS's seats (except for the Radian) completely eliminate my ability to see out the side of the car when I want to change lanes. It is honestly a little scary for me but I've learned to compensate with my mirrors. I think that RFing convertible seats are much worse than boosters.

Piper's Wizard outboard passenger cuts into both my rear and side vision. OTOH they say not to move back into a lane after a pass until you can see someone's headlights. Since Piper's seat blocks my vision on that side there is no risk of me cutting someone off. LOL Her booster blocks too, but it's not as high as the Wizard, nor is the headrest up as high even relatively speaking.

Rear facing Piper's Wizard blocked nothing. It was in the middle and she liked to be very reclined. So her seat was under my vision in my mirror. I loved it. FFing in the middle meant I couldn't see any cars behind me. I could see traffic and what not in the mirror, but nothing directly behind me. At least with her on the passenger seat I have the mirrors to compensate.

If your RF seat cuts off more of your vision than a booster at it's tallest setting, I would be concerned. My point is that SOMETHING will be blocking your vision for years to come, and if you thing a convertible seat is bad you will be miserable when your kid is in a Monarch (for example) at it's tallest setting. :twocents:

The Wal-Mart to which I went had (I'm not kidding!) AT LEAST 40 Daisy Sceneras and about 30-40 brown Sceneras.

They also had the 'Starter' infant seat (in plastic bags), and AT LEAST 30 high back boosters in plastic bags.

All those seats... NO NAUTILUS! :(

$149.99/$150 is the price I've seen mentioned somewhere in this looonggg thread. :)

Picked up 2 in So. California today!! There weren't any at my local Walmart, but the one near my parents house had 3 of them. So if you are near the Monrovia Walmart you may be able to run and get one.

ETA - it was $150

I never knew about any of those, but they had tons of all those in the plastic bags at both walmarts I was at! The associate who had to go get the Nautilus's down for me (there was none down below and no floor model to look at) was like "what are all these plastic things! LOL

OK, call me spoiled by Britax, but if this seat is to be a contender for me they need nicer covers and maybe some comfort foam!
