Replace this seat or not?

My husband was in an accident this morning in out 97 Ford Escort. Brendan was not with him, but the Marathon was installed. There was no visible damage to the car other than a tiny scratch. DH, however is sore and going to the doctor. Does this qualify as an injury requiring the seat to be replaced?

The vehicle was able to be driven away from the crash site;

The vehicle door nearest the safety seat was undamaged;

There were no injuries to any of the vehicle occupants;

The air bags (if present) did not deploy; AND

There is no visible damage to the safety seat

He is sore an gong to the doctor. That seems like an injury to me.

Is DH sore because of whiplash? Or did he have a pre-existing condition that is now acting up?

Depending on his level of soreness, I may or may not replace the seat.

I would get the vehicle checked out and if there was truly no damage to the vehicle other than a minor scratch, I would probably not replace the seat.
