    Nuna pipa in middle seat?

    Hi Car Seat Gurus,
I am wondering the following about the Nuna Pipa:
    1. Can I install it in the middle seat (of a Honda Accord 2013) using a seat belt? I cannot use latches in the middle seat and am wondering if its safe to use seat belt only.
    2. The floor is raised in front of the middle seat (or rather, there is a "bump" installed on the floor raising it). Is it possible to use the stability leg with this raised floor?

Re: Nuna pipa in middle seat?

    Hi Kevin,

    1. Yes, you can install with the seatbelt. The instructions are in your manual. It's perfectly safe.

    2. You likely won't be able to use the load leg. It'll raise the front of the base off of the front of the backseat. You can try, but don't hold your breath.

Now, it's up to you if you do this. The middle is safer, but you're also losing the potential benefits of the load leg and rigid lower anchors, which are part of why you got the Pipa over another rear facing only seat. So, totally up to you. Give it a try, see how you like it, see how it fits. If you can't get it to install properly, if you absolutely hate it, and if you find the side is the easiest thing since sliced bread, please move it back to the side. If you find the side means you and your partner are eating the dash and the middle makes your lives 10,000x more comfortable, please move it to the middle. Every family is different and there is no one answer fits all.
