Question 2005 Cavalier Rear Facing Install

I’m trying to figure out if it’s safe to install my daughters Cosco Mightyfit 65 rear facing in my car with the seat belt. If so how would I do that? The LATCH is stuck and I can’t tighten her seat enough with it. It’s a basic 2005 Cavalier.

Hi there.

You'd thread the seatbelt through the rear facing belt path, lock the belt (or if it's a lap belt, just pull the tail), add weight, and pull tight. Then you'd check the recline line for her weight, make any corrections based on that, and retighten it.
