Hello! I have a forwarded topic from my visitor post on the the CarseatBlog Facebook page.
Fwd msg: I have been perusing your blog learning lots about car seats. I am on a search for the perfect car safety system for our special needs daughter. We currently use the Baby Trend Hybrid 3-n-1. My issue is this- Kaitlyn is 6 years old, 50 pounds and a "total lift" meaning she doesn't stand or help with her movement. When we lift her into her seat, over the armrests, sometimes her head hits the door frame or roof. We want to find something with a lower rise, lower or no arm rests and would prefer to have the 5 point harness system as her trunk control isn't on par with her peers. {She can sit well but with an impact may "sway" more} There is ONE company that markets a car seat swivel system to the adaptive community but it is $1,200. (For real- that's not a typo). That's {WAY} out of our price range. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
Another option may be the vest things. Do you have any opinions about a travel vest/booster combo?
