Booster for center of Odyssey with Latch?

This may not exist, but here's hoping :D

I am trying to find a backless booster that will fit in the middle of the Odyssey's second row so that the outbound seat can still slide forward to allow access to the back. AND I would like said seat to have Latch so it doesn't slide so easily on the leather and it stays in place when my son is not in it.

Unicorn? Or does it exist?

TIA!

The Clek Olli and Ozzi may work. Or the Graco Affix. Maybe the Chicco KidFit backless. Or the Diono Solana.

Oh wow, I didn't realize the Olli was so narrow! I wish I could find one locally somewhere to try out, but I think I'll take a chance and order it. With the seat sliding thing, it's a shape and size issue, so I think all I can do is try it out (unless someone here has done this very thing). We have the Harmony booster now, which was the most narrow I could find, and it won't let the outbound seat slide forward because of the arm rests (and the no latch issue is making me crazy).

Thanks! I can't wait to have a latched booster :jive:

Oh wait, I just saw the Olli's dimensions are without the arm rests... why would they do that? Does anyone have the dimensions WITH the arm rests?

The armrests really don't come off.

Those are the narrowest ones I can think of.

Depends on the year. I have an '09 and the only thing I've been able to get to work there comfortably is a Bubble Bum.

The pre-2011 didn't have lower anchors in the +1, did it? I would assume OP has a current generation Ody based on that.

I didn't think they would, I just noticed that the measurement was of the seat bottom but doesn't include the width of the armrests. So I'm trying to figure out how wide it is really, when armrests are included in the measurement...

The Odyssey is a 2012. It does have lower anchors in the center seat. I have the Harmony booster now, and it fits okay (based on the convertible next to it on the other side, I think it would three across fine), but when my older kids slide the outbound seat forward to get to the third row, it pushes the Harmony forward. Plus, I really hate having an un-latched booster - it slips on the leather if my son isn't careful, and who has time to buckle in a seat when it's not occupied? Not me.

The captain's chairs have two positions where they can be installed. In narrow mode, they sit flush against the +1 seat. In wide mode, there's a couple inches of space between the captain's chair and the +1.

I suspect that any latchable backless booster that is buckleable in that spot will allow the captain's chairs to tumble forward if they're in wide mode.

Mind. Blown.

There should be like an orientation class for owning this vehicle.

Okay, I thought I'd post an update in case someone searches for this answer later...

The key here was the wide mode, which I never would have known about! I had to google a video of how to actually do it, but once I got the seats into wide mode, the Olli fit well in the center with the Nautilus on one side and a sliding seat for 3rd row access on the other side. I had to scoot the center seat back a bit - further than the outbound seats. That way the sliding seat didn't catch the back of the Olli armrest. But now it works perfectly!

FYI in standard (not wide) mode, the Olli didn't fit any better than the Harmony. Also FYI, I tried the Nautilus in the center seat, and I don't know if I was doing something wrong, but it was NOT a good fit at all.

So thanks, ladies! Olli + wide mode = win :)

Oh neat! I have a bunch of Olli seats so it's good to know. I swore I read they were too wide. I think it was a review from 2011 of the van. Ours is 2011. But if it really does fit, that's awesome. It's my favorite backless booster, too! The latch makes it so sturdy and secured.
We do like our Harmony seats but again, ours don't latch.

Did you test belt fit for the Olli in the center to check shoulder belt fit? The ceiling mounted center shoulder belt in that spot can be tricky for some backless booster riders. Generally, moving the center seat forward can help a bit but I noticed you said you had the center seat moved back.
