Traveler's Car Seat & Booster Seat

Hi,

My family is travelling to Costa Rica in late December and we are looking to purchase a "slimline" booster & Car seat so we can fit 3 people (2 children in devices & one young adult) in the back seat of our rental car.

My eldest is 6 years old, 42 lbs, & 46", my youngest is 4 years old, 36 lbs, & 42". Any brand recommendations?

Hi Erica,

A backless BubbleBum would work well for your six year old.

For your four year old a Ride Safer Travel Vest or a Harmony Defender, Evenflo Maestro, or Graco Tranzitions would be good options.

Do you have any idea the size of the rental car yet?

I am not sure that it helps, but we have regularly fit 2 Harmony dreamtime boosters and a Maestro in a Taurus or Outback sized vehicle for my son, niece and nephew. I would assume that a backless like the BubbleBum would give you more space even. And a young adult would probably take up less space than a booster seat.

I haven't used the Tranzitions seat or a Vest, but of the other recommendations from Wendy, I would much rather travel with my Maestro than my Defender. The Defender is heavy and awkward to carry in my opinion.
