Keyfit infant insert...teetering at 11lbs

DS2 is in a Keyfit 30. The infant insert should be removed at 11lbs.

He won't have another doc appt until December 9, so I'm stuck doing unofficial weights with me stepping on the scale holding him and not holding him.

The past few days he has been 11.6lbs, 11.1lbs, 11.4lbs. Should I remove the insert? Is it more dangerous to take it out early or leave it in late? Not sure how accurate my way of weighing is, lol.

He was 10lbs11oz on October 3rd.

I would take it out. Sounds like he is over 11 lbs. There is no danger in taking it out early, if it happens that he is not quite 11 lbs. The fit will be kinda awkward for a little while, with the buckle higher up on his belly, but it is perfectly safe. Just make sure to adjust the straps so they are below (or at) his shoulders.

We took ours out early because even at less than 11lbs, DDs cloth diapers plus the insert made for a poorly fitting crotch buckle. Just use the head pillow if you want :)
