buckle questions on frontier 90

I tried dd in the seat using the closest position but it seemed just a little under her. With it in the outer position it seems too far away. I know the manual states closest to but not under. Is it really ok for it to be out from her that far? Also, does the buckle cover have to be on? She doesn't like it but I don't see anywhere that it says I can remove it.

Was the buckle actually under her, or just the strap? The strap can be a little under her as long as the actual buckle is not.

I believe the buckle cover is optional but you should call Britax to confirm that.

I guess I read it wrong. Somehow I read that the buckle could not be coming from under her and took it to mean that the strap for the buckle could not be under her. The strap for the buckle is a tad under her, but the buckle is still up where it should be. Personally I find the buckle cover to be a bit bulky.
