Light convertible seat for frequent travel

We're stationed in Europe for another 18 months, and take frequent trips with our children - generally involving flights and a rental cars. Our long 12 month old will be outgrowing her infant seat soon, and will be moving into a Radian. I can't imagine dragging that heavy seat through airports! We'd like to buy a new seat just for use while traveling. We obviously have access to European seats here, but also have a military shipping address, so US seats are also an easy option. Do any very safe yet easily portable seats come to mind? Thanks!

Hi! Can you give us a little more info? How much does she weigh, and how tall, and what is her torso height? What seat is she outgrowing?

I will say that the Radian is among the easiest of seats to carry, in my opinion- it has available carry straps, and despite its weight, the foldability is a big plus when lugging it! The Travelling Toddler strap or a luggage cart to clip it to are other options as well. Now, installing it rear-facing on planes is another issue...

All seats are safe, so it's just a matter of what will work for you. :thumbsup: Do you often fly European airlines that have prohibitive policies against car seats? Or do you only/mostly fly US based airlines that are required to allow any FAA or otherwise aircraft approved seat?
