Hi all, my wife and I are expecting our first baby within a week and have found this website to be very useful. Thank you in advance for any help provided.

We have purchased the Britax B-Agile Travel System Stroller which comes with a Britax B-Safe Infant Car Seat and Britax B-Safe Infant Car Seat Base which we will be using as a backup Car Seat.

Installing the Britax B-Safe Infant Car Seat Base was straight forward and there is less than one inch of movement on the base where it is strapped in with the latch system to our Acura TSX. So we are okay up to this point. However when we place the Britax B-Safe Infant Car Seat into the base and snap it into place one of the ends seems a bit loose. It is the front of the car facing end of the Britax B-Safe Infant Car Seat that seems a bit loose; it will not un-snap but it does move a bit. In comparison the rear of the car facing end of the Britax B-Safe Infanct Car Seat does not move at all.

Does anyone know if this is okay and the way the Britax B-Safe Infant Car Seat operates when placing into place in the Britax B-Safe Infant Car Seat Base? Or has this been anyone else's experience? Thank you.

That's fine. Movement at the head is normal.

You have the seat on the side? Acura doesn't allow for center LATCH in that car.

Thank you for the helpful information on Acura not having center latches in the back seat. I had used the two inner latches of the outside seats to install in the center using the latches. After reading lots of information we now know this is incorrect and not designed to work like this. We were going to have the same problem in our other vehicle a Honda Accord, which is going to have our principal car seat Britax Advocate 70, because I was going to install in the center also using the Latches.

Is there any recommendation on what is best. Either using the outer seats with latches or the center seat with the lap/shoulder belt? I've done lots of reading since yesterday and have found conflicting commentary in different websites.

Once again thank you for all the help.

The center is 43% safer, and LATCH is not safer than the seatbelt. It's *supposed* to be easier. Instead it creates a lot of confusion like you've found.

Each carseat you bought has a lockoff to lock your seat belt, though despite being made by the same manufacturer, they work differently. The lockoff on the infant seat will probably be easier to use--thread the seat belt through and pull it tight, then close the lockoff over it. Make sure the base moves less than 1" right there at the belt path or repeat that process.

The lockoff on the Advocate is blue and you use the one closest to the buckle. Open up both arms and thread the seat belt through. Remove the slack from the seat belt and close both arms of the lockoff over the seat belt. Grab the shoulder belt right next to the lockoff and pull hard to remove slack while pushing down on the carseat. It's a little clumsy at first, but once you get used to the technique, it's easy. You should be able to feel the seat belt move through the lockoff. Test for that 1" or less of movement at the belt path of the Advocate as well.
