I always tried to straighten the buckle after tightening. I don't think it is a safety issue, only a comfort one. If your dd isn't bothered by it, I wouldn't worry. It wouldn't hurt to pass your concerns on to Evenflo, though I think they are using a different buckle now, aren't they?

Hi there no they are not using a different buckle i just bought this one a few months ago because my husband needed a car seat for in his truck so i got this one and that is straitened and it's still poking into her tummy. im thinking that it is because the buckle sits to high on her tummy so when i tighten it it goes down and into her belly. i should check her belly after a ride if it's red then i think it doesn't fit her right.

Hmm, maybe it's only on their other seats. If it seems to be causing any problems, I would definitely let Evenflo know.
