Question 3 Across Acura TL - Canada

We drive a 2004 Acura TL and not ready for the minivan but ready for the 3rd baby. Currently using an Evenflo Triumph and a Britax Boulevard 65 and have our eyes on purchasing a Radian R100. One seat will need to be rear facing but the other two will be front facing. I’m guessing I’ll need to buy two Radians and not sure what the third will be, guessing my Britax. Are the RXT worth the extra cost? Any advice on what to buy that will fit our growing family would be appreciated.

Re: 3 Across Acura TL

Welcome, and congrats on #3!

How old and heavy are your current kids? That will help us tailor recommendations.

Re: 3 Across Acura TL

So the ages & weights are

3 year old at 40 lbs,
1 1/2 at 30 lbs
and Newborn

Also my husband is 6'3" so his seat need to be far back and the main driver and a rearfacing never fits behind driver side with either the Britax or Evenflo.

Thanks

Ok. We'll find something I hope, since at 18 months no one here would recommend forward facing. I'd try a Diono Radian with angle adjuster and brace it against your driver's side seat. See if that works.

Beyond that, I'm not going to make recommendations because I can't remember what is in Canada and what is not.

I agree with Wendy about the Radian for the 18 month old. IIRC, the TL is comparable to the Accord. We have a 2004 Civic and we're able to have the front seat all the way back with a rearfacing Radian with the angle adjuster. I imagine you have a smidge more room in your car than we do.

Were you planning to use an infant seat with the new baby?

I’ve used the Evenflo Triumph from birth for my first two children and didn’t have any issues, so no I’m not going to buy an infant seat if possible.

Thank you,
Julie

When is the baby due?

I'd probably do a rear facing Radian in the middle for the baby, provided it fits at a newborn angle. Then a rear facing Radian with angle adjuster braced behind the driver's seat. Then the Britax forward facing behind the passenger. I think that's the only way to reuse something you have already.
