Radian or SS1 for airplane travel

I've decided on the Radians for my girls. I'm very happy with the fit in the car and anyone with triplets or 3 in seats can tell you how exciting the idea of 3 in a row is. But...my tallest girl has about 1" left before she outgrows the SS. We are traveling to Israel in October so chances are they will all still fit in the SSs. Should I take those without the bases with me instead of the Radians? They are certainly lighter and install easier. They will be a bit bulkier in the airports, but they stack pretty well and I could pop them into one of the stroller seats and wear someone. Does it install well in a plane without the base? The manual doesn't say anything about the base. Thanks!

If they still fit the SS1's, then that is what I would take.

The Radians do not fit well RFing on a plane.

The SS1's will be much lighter for carting around.

The SS1 will have no issues with installing in the vehicle at your destination... the Radian *may* have issues.

The SS1 will install just fine without the base on the plane.

Thanks! That helps a bunch! I was also considering talking my mom into getting us the Sceneras and then we could pass 1 or 2 on to my sis who is due in February as back-up/second seats.

Any tips for the SSs on the plane? I'll practice inthe car here, too.

If you have a lap belt in your car, it works exactly the same

Run belt through the belt path, buckle up and tighten... super easy to do even with the kids in the seat.

I know that sounds really easy... it's because it is. ;) :D

Great! Dh is getting annoyed with me and the whole car seat issue. I guess having 2 sitting on my dining room table and 3 in the hall isn't something he gets. LOL
