Toyota Corolla safe choice for 2 infants?

My husband and I are preparing for twins in the fall and are wondering whether to keep or replace our 1996 Toyora Corolla sedan. Is it safe or advisable to have two rear-facing seats, each adjacent to a rear side door?

I have a 2001 toyota corolla, and personally in my car, I know that two graco snugrides would not have fit in our car. There just wouldn't have been enough room in front for myself or my husband. He's only 5'10" and I'm 5'6". There may be different seats that would fit rearfacing, but I know our roundabout only fits in the middle, rearfacing. And the snugride, barely fit in the middle. I can easily fit two FF seats on each side of a rearfacing seat in the middle. Although that won't really help you.

Any rear-facing seat installed in the back of the vehicle will be extremely safe for the child ( http://www.car-safety.org/rearface.html ). If you can fit a rear-facing seat there correctly, then your twins will be very safe.
