I was parked yesterday and saw a mom get in a tiburon with her friend. she put the car seat in the back sideways and sat in the front to nurse (yay!) her infant. I left before I saw them drive off but it appeared there was no base in the car and it didn't look like the seat would fit properly installed anyways. please tell me I'm wrong.

Is it possible she would sit in the back squished behind the drivers seat so the passengers seat could be up further? If the passenger seat is up even with her in it it may fit. I can't say for sure.

I have a 3-door 2004 Hyundai Accent, which I think is even smaller than a tiburon, and I installed a Snugride 22 in the center without the base with no issues. It didn't touch the front seats, I managed to get the belt very tight, the seat wouldn't move and the angle was perfect. So my guess is that it would fit. Oh, and the baby riding in it was my friend's three day old son, I picked them up at the hospital. I had to put a rolled recieving blanket between him and the crotch buckle so the straps would be tight enough.

I had a client when I did home health that owned a Tiburon, she had two forward facing car seats in the back seat (I think they were Evenflo Chases but I can't be sure) they hung of the edge of the seat slightly and when the kids (a three year old and a small eighteen month old) were in the seats they had to sit cross legged because the front seats were literally touching the fronts of their car seats. My understanding is the Tiburon is a sports car and not designed for hauling people around.

I sincerely hope the seat fits, and that it was installed properly installed before they drove off. I have my doubts. I could sit in the parking lot and watch 100 kids being put into incorrectly installed/used seats. it's brutal.
