Ripping harness in Recaro Como (DOM 07)

I was buckling DD into my aunt's van today in her Recaro Como (DOM 07) and noticed a split in the harness at her hip area that is about 1/4 inch. Should I call Recaro about this issue, order a new harness, or just get a new seat for her since it only has about a year left. I do not feel comfortable using it as it is as it's not fraying, it's actually torn.

If you would like to use it until expiration I would get a new harness. A new harness is cheaper than a new seat.

Heather, do I just call Recaro to order one? Do they sell replacement parts over the internet? I feel like such a dummy because I don't even know how long it's been there.

Thankfully she's only rode in her van a handful of times since the last time I checked the harness.

This address was giving me issues today when I was contacting them for something so I found this one and got replies:

info-usa@recaro-cs.com

if you have issues with the email from the PP try the one I just suggested. I was getting mailer-daemon error messages and in German lol!

I would let them know the issue and see if they offer a solution first, rather than just order the harness.

I agree. The cost of the harness would also factor into whether I replaced it or just replaced the whole seat with a different one.
