Question Broken Seatbelt Adjuster

My inlaws are going to give us their Impala once they get a new car. The driver's seatbelt adjuster is broken, so it's stuck in the highest position, which puts it high on my neck and is pretty uncomfortable for me.

The seatbelt adjusts by sliding up and down in a slot by pressing down on a plastic knob. The knob is broken clean off. Does anyone know of a possible way to get it to lower? I haven't monkeyed around with it since it's not ours yet.

Is there any other safe way to adjust the seatbelt off my neck? I've driven it before and had the seat as reclined and back as I can stand it (admittedly not that far) and it doesn't help.

If it's just a comfort and not a safety issue I can deal with it. But if there's a way to fix it without replacing the whole thing I'd like to try it.

Yep I'd take it to the dealer and have them fix it. That's what I had to do when the plastic lever for my emergency brake broke off my truck (manual transmission).
