Followed the link I found, IDK where, curious and excited about what we'll be doing...

How will the 3 car seat checks/15 seats/per year required to remain certified work? I mean it says you can do it w/ another tech (easy the other new techs we complete the class with will be excited to do it also), but it suggests an instructor. How do we find other instructors?

Especially in my case, would love to do some local stuff, since I live in the city w/ the JI trained firemen. Do I join them? Then, what do I do if they're doing something questionable (or wrong-ie share latch) and I'm the *new* one, but they've been doing this since before my ODS was a baby?

I'm so excited!

This is probably all stuff that Nicole goes over during the course.

You're already a tech, so you can re-cert (I'll figure that out soon) versus taking the whole course, unless you're not feeling confident just doing a re-cert.

Hmmmm. I might be interested in a recert

Yes, it has always been final. The only thing we don't know quite yet is where we're holding it. We have an offer out in Maple Ridge I think it is..but I'm looking for something more central.

Yeah to the confirmation and how generous of the people in Maple Ridge.

Boo and Hiss to the 1hr and 20min commute 6 times to do it! And, probably longer during rush hour!

Thanks for trying to find something closer and for looking in the first place!

Boo and Hiss to the Ladner/Langley Fire department for not being more responsible. At least Richmond sends theirs to the 1 day (paid) one...

Maple Ridge sounds great to me ;) I guess I should get on figuring out how I'm going to get out there if it is somewhere farther and finalize who is watching Alice.

Trudy probably has more up-to-date information on the re-cert, but right now it looks like a re-take is the only available option. If there's a re-cert available before I move, we'll do it.

I'm in! I will have to bring Aurora but she entertains herself easy enough. Amelia you can come with me.
I just need to find care for Cooper. before and after school pick up. Actually if you bring A here I may have an idea for a sitter....just have to talk to Phil. Cooper is supposed to have a field trip that day though.

Oooh, just saw this. I have prior commitments on all three days, but I might be able to change stuff around. Do you still have spots open? What would timing look like, esp for the Sat and Sun? Thanks!

Officially we're starting at 9 on Friday, although we'll be waiting until everyone arrives and I won't start the curriculum until 9:30. It usually runs until about 5-5:30. Saturday will be the same, and then Sunday we're doing a clinic from 10am-1pm (although expect to be there 9:30-1:30). I was being strung along by a local agency for free classroom space but that doesn't look like it's going to work out. My goal is to have something firmed up by Friday.

The course and check details have been firmed up, and a course introduction will be going out to participants in the next day or so. If you do not receive an email from me and/or you are not added to the check spreadsheet on Google Docs, please let me know either via email or PM.

It also looks like we have an approved re-cert option, so the re-cert group will only overlap on the check date (April 29th).

Thanks,

-N.
