Trying to decide b/t the R120 or the RXT. I heard that the Diono's don't booster well and I'd probably need to buy a HBB for LO anyway so I'm thinking about saving a little $$$ and just going w/ the R120. I have a 24lb 14mo RF in a SKR that is working really well for us. Need a second for dad's car. I wanted the same one, but since they're now Diono trying to decide. I want the R120 b/c it has the extra infant padding so that if we have another LO He/she could use it when DS is done with it. Thanks

Is it cheaper to buy the R120, or the R100 and the infant padding separately? Otherwise, sounds like a great plan.

Ok, just bought the R120. Now, I know you aren't supposed to put a mat under the car seat, but when looking at the Diono website I saw that their mat is crash tested. Does that mean that it is safe to put under the car seat? I'd love to protect my leather seats a little, but not in exchange for safety. Thanks.
Any mat that is thick enough to prevent indentations is too thick. All mats say they're crash tested. There are no standards for aftermarket products. So maybe they threw it against the wall.
A thin towel spread out under the seat will help with spills and crumbs, be machine washable, cheaper, more customizable to your interior, can go up the back to help keep mud off the backseat from feet, and double as an emergency clothes or blanket if necessary.
