Belt stalk in ff belt bath

Has anyone used the Radian with the belt stalk in the ff belt path? It's the only way I could get it ff in my car. But it stuck out a lot and I don't see it being comfortable.

I'm sure you've already tried but did you twist the stalk? Or try a different seating position? Can you use LATCH? I would not like the buckle in the belt path since it would be pressing into the child.

No latch so that's out. I moved the seat to the edge and it still didn't help twisting the belt stalk. The center is worse.
