Long haul flight

Hello,

We will be flying for the first time with my 3 year old. He's about 38-39", 33-34 lbs. It is going to be a loooong flight, from DC to Indonesia, totaling almost 30 hours. What do you think will be the best car seat to use? We have a britax boulevard cs, which is wide unfortunately. Any insight on this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you !

I'd just bring your Boulevard and install it rear facing. Just put the armrest up and it'll fit just fine, and likely be the most comfortable for him. The built in lockoffs will also be nice in a foreign country where locking seatbelts may not be a priority.

We flew from SC to Guam(20hours roughly) with a Radian XTSL and it was comfortable both for my son, and for us to sit beside. I flew once with my Marathon(same shell as Blvd) and said 'never again' because it was so wide. But in this case, I would have to agree with Wendy about the lock-offs being helpful in an unfamiliar situation and just tough it out with the Blvd.

Apa Kabar Vee!

If you're flying a non-U.S. airline, check their rules about car seats. Not all will allow them and some have some strange regulations.

Thank you so much all ! We will be flying Virgin America & Eva Airways. I've checked with both and they allow car seats. I think we shouldn't have problem with Virgin America since their seat is at least 19.7 " wide. Then we will have 2 Eva air connecting flights. I just checked and turn out on both flight we'll get 18" wide seats with 37" & 40" seat pitch respectively. If everybody think that the britax boulevard is my best bet then britax boulevard it is. It actually make things easier and simpler for us ! Thanks again everyone :)
