Question Rear facing convertible seats for a Toyota Echo-Canada

I have a 17 month old/23 lb son who is ready for a convertible seat and I'd like him to still be rear facing but the seat I bought (Eddie Bauer Alpha Omega Elite Deluxe 3 in 1) doesn't fit rear facing in my Toyota Echo, or in my husband's Chevy Venture van. Since we already opened the one to try in the van, we have to keep it but I'm wondering if you know of any convertible seats that will fit rear facing in a 4 door Toyota Echo?

Re: Rear facing convertible seats for a Toyota Echo

Your seat passes testing if you put it more upright than the line on the side. If you're comfortable doing that, it should fit much better in your car.

Which version did you get? There are seats that rear face to 35 pounds and forward face to 40, rear face to 35 and forward face to 50, and rear face to 40 and forward face to 65. The 40 pound version is honestly crap once you've gone forward facing (often outgrown by 2.5-3.5 year olds, and then makes a deadly booster). The 50 and 65 pound versions are ok.

But yeah, if you're open to buying something else, great. I'd look at the Graco My Ride, Evenflo Triumph 65, Maxi Cosi Pria, Safety 1st Complete Air, and probably the Britax Roundabout 55.

If your looking to get a new seat, the britax would fit. I love the Marathon70 and Boulrevard 70. Their seats fit very nicely in small cars. They can touch and brace against the front seats, and they can be anchored down.
I am getting ready to post pics of 3 across in my small VW Jetta, I have a Boulrevard pictured ;)

Thanks for your replies. We have the rear facing to 35 lbs and forward facing to 50 lb. I'll check out the Britax and hope i can return the one that we haven't opened yet.
