I bought a shoebuy.com coupon and need to get something for the new baby. I've looked through ALL of their baby shoes and can't find much that I like. My brain is frazzled because their infant section organization sucks so I had to look through over 2000 pairs of shoes. :p

What's your opinion on these shoes?

I bought the coupon to buy a specific pair of boots for DD2 that I knew would fit and now they don't have the boots! Can't really order anything for any of the rest of us as I can't guarantee sizing and returning to the U.S. will cost me an arm and a leg so shopping for the baby is the easiest.

I think they're cute :) But most little girl stuff is to me after shopping in the boys section all the time.

I think animal prints are borderline tacky on kids. I like the "sugar and spice" shoes but I'd skip the boots

I would choose the boots over the shoes, if they were a different print, but I wouldn't put them on a boy either way. The shoes are weird, are they supposed to be different colors like that, yeah, I don't like that  I know these are made for babies to protect their feet, at least the shoes are. But in general I don't put anything on babies feet until they are walking, definately not those boots.

Yes the shoes are supposed to be different. One sugar, one spice. :)

If you lived in my province in the winter, you would see how a winter bootie would be beneficial. :D Socks and a fleece suit doesn't always cut it; especially if you have to carry baby from car to destination. The wind rips right through fleece here.

I also like the shoes for when they are pulling up on furniture. We have hardwood and it's slippery just with socks. Bare feet is fine in the summer, but in the winter the hardwood can be mighty cool on those little feet.

I also don't mind having a pair of cute shoes to put on if we go to other people's places, that way I don't come home with missing socks because baby socks always come off!

So ya, while I agree that normally non-walking babies don't need shoes, I do have a few circumstances where I like having a pair around.

I hate animal print, but like the boots. I like the shoes too.
I normally hate animal print as well but something about these said to me, "these are SO tacky that they've crossed the line to cute!". :ROTFLMAO:

I love the boots but not the shoes, the shoes should be the same color, those look like they belong in different sets

I'd go with the boots since they can work for a girl or a boy and are better for the cold. The style of shoes that the second pair are really don't stay on any better than socks before they're walking from what I remember with my dd.

I don't dig animal print clothing/shoes. Carseats, sure, but not clothing. It just reminds me of mini streetwalkers.

The Sugar/Spice shoes are super cute, though.

I got the baby boxes out of the garage and started to go through what I had for small sized clothing and I found these in a box in size 0-6 months (but mine are cream colour):

So, I'm thinking I don't need the boots just because baby won't be wearing boots enough to warrant 2 pairs. Unless I got them in a size for next year, but by next year I'll want something different.

And then I found two pairs of IsaBooties in the box in size 3-6 months and 6-12 months. The first pair looks new, because of course DD2 wouldn't have put any wear on them. The 2nd pair looks barely worn, because likely they were barely worn. LOL

Theoretically then, I don't need any shoes for the next year. So what the heck do I buy at ShoeBuy then?

I totally would but shoe fit and sizing is too hard to buy online, especially with my narrow feet, and their free returns don't work for Canada. :(

I hear you. I have size 10-11 feet that are narrow. Makes shopping online hard. Especially when shoe companies think all women with that sized feet are super wide.

Are there any brands that are in stores near you, so you can find if they will fit before you buy?
Not that I'm motivated to phone around and find out and then go to and try on while pregnant and dragging DD2 along with me. :ROTFLMAO: It is a great idea though, just too overwhelming for me right now. The coupon is good for quite a long time, I just wanted to use it now to save myself on shipping to Canada since I have several package coming to my U.S. forwarding address right now and they'll consolidate them together to save me their fees and shipping costs. If I do this at some other time, the fees and extra postage negate any saving on the coupon.
