I used to listen to this song as a kid (in the 80's) all the time and it's funny how I really relate to it now that I have 3 RF kiddos in my SUV. I've been searching for it for a while and finally found it! (broke the link between youtube)

That is great! I wonder what the context was in the 80's?

Uh, remember those rear-facing seats in the back of station wagons, with lap belts? Yeah... LOL.

(Except it was the 90s, not 80s, since it was released in 1992, according to the publisher?)

Eh, my neighbor's Ford Taurus wagon had lap/shoulder belts in the rear faced 3rd row. :p

Yeah, that was the minority though. ;)

It could also refer to riding on a train... would explain the "wheels stay on track" line.

I just saw a couple girls sitting rear facing with lap/shoulder belts in the back of a vehicle last month. I wondered how safe it was.

oh and I was 10 in 1990

It seems to me like he is talking about riding in the bed of the truck. He said something about wind in his face and he is sitting in the back of a truck on the cover.

But, no one has to know that. Lol. Super cute song!

I wondered about it being the bed of a truck, or maybe a train? because he says "as long as the wheels stay in the tracks"...? still thought it was cute for RF. :)

Oh, he's totally talking about a pickup...the line about some like shotgun, the wheel, or the middle. The wheels in the track I think is referring to the ruts on a country dirt road. Good song! Thanks for sharing!
