I was surprised...

I put my almost 3yo DS in the ProSport today, first time he has ever been FFing...and I thought okay surely he is on the lowest harness slots, he's practically a baby right?!

Nope, I was shocked to discover that he was on the 2nd harness slots and not too far from needing to be moved up to the 3rd!
Now, he does have a long torso and short legs, but STILL! I can't imagine putting a tiny little thing in a FFing seat, I know people do it but he probably would have fit in it at like 1 year old!

No wonder everyone around here has their 2-3 year olds in backless boosters

My kid is still rear-facing but rides FF in this seat in our Civic (on harness mode.) Only 1 slot left to move up, and she's close! So yeah, I was surprised too. :)

the key point is to be glad that when people do decide to put their kids in at the minimums, the seat will truly fit them... now if we could just get seat manufacturers to conform to the new aap recommendations and raise the ff minimums... and make their seats to reflect it.

Yeah, when I see James sit in his big bubba's seats he seems so tiny...I put him in Aidan's FR85 when he was a bit below the minimums and it fit him really well! Still....I look at him and can't help but kick myself for being such a dumb @$$ and FF Aidan *right* at 20 lbs, 13 months....:banginghead: Hindsight is 20/20 right?

I know I wish they would make the seats with the new recommendations in mind...but then again people would probably just misuse them
