Question Racer vs. Onyx fabric on Britax seats

I have which I thought was an Onyx cover on SWAP, but I am not sure. Does anyone have a pic of Racer on a classic MA? I am just curious what Racer looks like, I can't find a pic on the web. Thanks!

I've been told before that I had the racer pattern, but I dont know for sure. Maybe someone else can verify it. This is the one I had. Its a black and white zigzag pattern.

hmm..well, idk really what it is. Here's a link to an onyx on amazon. you can zoom in and see the pattern well on it. It looks like little stripes to me.

I have pics here somewhere comparing the 2. An easy way to tell is the little bag on top above the head (latch storage bag) is different. On Onyx it's the black plush. On Racer it's the same as the center fabric

It is Racer. And everyone on Ebay seems to think it's Onyx too IMO Onyx looks much nicer than Racer.

Oh my, I can't believe how many Onyx looking covers there are! LOL I've been looking for an Onyx for a year and finally jumped at a possible Onyx one, which wound up to be a Racer one, so still looking! LOL Way back I found a couple for $45'ish, but if I'm going to plunge at that, I may as well pay the entire $60 for a new one...THOUGH, the pads on some of the new ones are plush, so it makes me wonder which one I'll get even then! LOL

I knew to look out for the one w/ the red strip around the edges, Platinum I think. Now i also have to watch out for Racer, Herringbone, Graystone, Speedway, Solstice.

Are there OTHERS? I really don't want to pay to ship another wrong one! LOL Lucky for me I only had to pay shipping for the other, so I can fix the elastic & through it back up to sell! LOL

For those that are wondering why, they really are close enough, I'm trying to match another seat in the car & it's driving me crazy! LOL

Thanks!! I did buy it from Target a few years back but I was never able to find out what the cover was called...good to know now though in case the ppl I sold it to wants to know.

Yes. A few other ways to tell if you can't see the tether storage pocket. The side that wraps around the back of the seat... Onyx is black plush, Racer is the same as the center fabric. I *think* on the cover that goes over the harness adjuster tab might be lined with black plush for Onyx.

That's GOOD to know TYVM, getting tired of feeling like I'm harassing people to know the correct name of something I'm buying! LOL

Interested though that the RA Onyx cover is closer to the Racer in style than the MA. The RA Onyx has slippery pocket & slippery sides. And, I'm pretty sure it's Onyx b/c it's the same as my Shadow RN and I checked at the store new on the shelf! LOL It's painful I can't just use the RA cover on my Classic MA...sigh.

I noticed on Britax's website for replacement covers, the Onyx has a Racer stock photo Maybe that's why Diapers.com does too?

That is a Roundabout50 Onyx cover. And that would fit the Classic Marathon. Except the RA50 has 3 crotch buckle positions and the MA only has 1.

I don't know where I got my Onyx stock photo from. I've had it saved on my computer for awhile.

That's the RA40. I guess they change the cover a bit for each seat.

I'm going to sound REALLY dumb now, but the crotch buckle is adjustable on a Classic MA? Really? Where's it supposed to sit? Meaning, in front of the child or coming from under the child?

I've never noticed that!

And, YEAH why would Britax have a Racer stock picture on their website, how do I know from dd where I was thinking of getting it b/c it's free shipping & htey have new member discounts that it's cheaper!

Stock photo Seems easier to find the correct Onyx pic as a seat, instead of as a cover...
