Radian or Marathon in Prius?

Hi everyone! I just found these boards, and I LOVE them! So helpful!

My daughter is 4.5 months, 18 pounds, and 25 inches. We have a 2008 prius. We want to get her a convertible car seat because she doesn't seen to like her infant seat anymore (a chicco keyfit). I think she'd like to be sitting up more. I should also add that I finally founf a store that carries radians, so I'm going this weekend to see how they fit in my car.

I've been researching car seats, and there is so much to learn! I've narrowed it down to a radian xlts and a marathon. Which one do you guys recommend? Does anyone have experience with either of these seats in a prius? Anything I should know? Can they go in the middle seat? Is there another seat that I should be considering also? I'm most concerned about getting the safest seat. I'd like her to RF as long as possible.

Thanks!!!

I can't answer which one will fit better in your car, but I believe both will. You can use the center, you just cannot use LATCH there. You'd have to use the seatbelt.

My SIL drives a prius and has two radians in it without a problem. At one point she even had both RF without a problem. A few times they've moved a seat over and had MIL, who is slender but not teeny tiny, sit back there with them without a problem.

Thanks for the advice! We went and tried them out in our car, and I'm so glad we did! The radian caused the front seat to be pushed all the way forward. It was much slimmer, but as we only need one car seat in the back, that's not a huge concern right now. The marathon and boulevard both fit much better.

Which leads me to my next led question: is the boulevard worth the extra money? As far as I can tell, the only difference is the extra side impact protection? Does this actually offer extra protection? I'm inclined to buy the boulevard instead of the marathon, but am interested in what others have to say.

TIA!

We have a '06 Prius and I really dislike installing the Radian in it. The Marathon installs easily though. We have 3 kids though and need to occasionally do 3 across, so the Radian must stay.
