I'll be MIA for a few days. We are heading home shortly to my parent's farm and then my son is going to spend the weekend with his dad. Tomorrow night is one of the many Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life events. So far I have raised just under $200 and the team I am on currently has $500 in online donations (I would expect our total is much, much higher as most of the people are from a small town where it is easier to hand $20 to someone when you see them at coffee than it is to get on the internet and make a pledge, lol). My dad called this morning and asked me to buy him and my mom rainsuits, forecast is for a night of walking in the rain!
This is why I am participating in the event:
This is why I am participating in the event:
I relay because my dad is a cancer survivor...because Grandma Toots is a cancer survivor...because my cousin lost his wife, Chantelle, to cancer when she was 27...because a friend, Mark Miner, lost his 10 year battle with brain cancer on April 18, 2007.
I am part of a team put together by Mark's mom. Mark was a friend of mine and he will be missed, but he will also be celebrated and this is one more way to celebrate.
