Question Posted for Guest: car seat for 2008 G6

I bought an Alpha Omega safety first car seat from Sam's, my son has outgrown his infant car seat. I have had several people try to install it, the safety council, hospital etc. The hospital finally installed it behind the passenger seat ( which I hate). The problem is it doesn't recline enough, the angle of the back seats, the distance between the front, and the hump in the center make it impossible! his head still goes fwd when he sleeps or i stop. There is no way to secure it properly and have the angle line on the side match. Does anyone know of a seat that will work in the center? My son is 8 months old and is 22 lbs.

The line doesn't need to be level for an eight month old, nor is it an issue that his head goes forward now, unless he has a medical issue. He can pull it back up by eight months.

Have you installed it? Or been taught how?

The seat is fine rear facing as long as he has more than 1" above his head and is under 35 pounds. You may get a better installation without the base, if you can remove it. Is it a 40 or 50 pound version?

Just know that it's a deadly booster and never should be used as such.

However, it's not a well loved seat, as you've discovered. It's harder to install than most, doesn't last as long as some others (if it's a 40 pound version it hardly lasts as long as anything else), and makes a bad booster. In your car and with your child, nearly anything would work, I think. My favorite top five, in no particular order, are the Sunshine Kids Radians, Evenflo Triumph 65, Graco My Ride, Safety 1st Complete Air, and Learning Curve True Fit (though this also only has a 35 pound rear facing weight limit. The others go to 40-45 pounds).
