Question 2002 Forester - car seat woe

Our 10 month old is starting to hate the infant car seat we have in my 2002 Subaru Forester (LATCH kicked in 2003). She loves the Evenflo Triumph 65 we have in my husband's '07 Yaris but that seat will not at all work in the Forester. We can get it in, but we can't lock it down in any position - RF/FF (testing, not to put her in), center or side.

From cruising around here, it seems that the Britax and Radian seats are the best for the 'ru given the odd dimensions that it has...but neither has easy adjust straps OR the ratcheting lock system that the Triumph has (http://www.evenflo.com/product.aspx?id=317&pfid=3704). Does anybody know if there is a seat that will fit the 'ru with those features?

What do you mean, it won't lock down? Are you locking the seatbelt?

Yeah I'm confused on wording just as Wendy is. As a subaru owner there are many seats that fit wonderfully rear facing and forward facing in a subi. Maybe you could clarify the above statement and we could help you out a little better.

Sorry - by locked down, I mean we belt it in using the seat belts & the additional locking clip that the Evenflo gives to help anchor a sliding belt clip but when the seat belt is fully engaged the carseat still can slide more than an 1"

Ah, ok. You don't need the locking clip. Your seatbelts lock. Install the Evenflo, pull the seatbelt all the way out at the shoulder, and let it retract back. If it's still moving a bit more than allowed after you've added weight to the seat and tightened it down, unbuckle it and let it retract back a click or two, then rebuckle it.
